Georgia Defeats Florida For Second Straight Season, 17-9

It was an ugly game but the Georgia Bulldogs pulled out the win against the Florida Gators, 17-9 in the annual game in Jacksonville. Both quarterbacks for each team struggled but it was Georgia's defense that stepped up all game long and forcing the Gators to resort to field goals.

Georgia QB Aaron Murray couldn't get anything going in the passing game. He went 12/24 for 150 yards, and threw one touchdown pass and three interceptions. WR Malcolm Mitchell caught five passes for 74 yards and one touchdown. RB Todd Gurley had 27 rushing attempts for 118 yards and one touchdown. The offense only had 273 total yards and couldn't convert on third down as they went 1/10. Penalities were a problem as they committed 14 for 132 yards.

The Bulldog's defense kept the team in the game for four quarters. CB Damien Swann and All-American safety Bacarri Rambo each had an interception. Linebacker Jarvis Jones, another projected NFL first round pick on Georgia's defense, had a Heisman-like game. He finished the game with 13 total tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. He gets in the backfield at will and never takes a play off.

Florida QB Jeff Driskel went 14/26 for 185 yards and threw two interceptions. WR Jordan Reed caught 5 passes for 74 yards. RB Mike Gillislee had 22 carries for 77 yards. The Gators also had problems committing penalties. They had 10 for 95 yards. They only had 266 yards in total offense.

Georgia improves to 7-1 and stays in the hunt for the SEC Championship game. If Florida would have won this game, they would have clinched a trip to Atlanta. From now on, Georgia controls their destiny if they want to play the SEC West winner in that championship game. The Bulldogs shouldn't have any difficulty in their final four games as they play Ole Miss, Auburn, Georgia Southern, and Georgia Tech. The road to a national championship will be tough, but Georgia has what it takes to make these aspirations happen. Georgia Edges Kentucky, 29-24

UGA QB Aaron Murray broke the school record for touchdown passes

It was a tough, grinding game for the Georgia Bulldogs in Lexington as they defeated the Kentucky Wildcats 29-24. The Wildcats came into the game with a dreadful 1-6 record and were looking to upset the #11 ranked, 5-1 Bulldogs. Kentucky fought and clawed throughout the whole game but it was Georgia who came out on top. Kentucky gave Georgia trouble in 2011 as the Dawgs won the game 19-10 in Athens to clinch the SEC East title.

Georgia QB Aaron Murray had a phenomenal game as he went 30/38 for 427 yards and 4 touchdown passes. He passed QB David Greene for all time touchdown passes in UGA history. WR Tavarres King caught 9 catches for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns. WR Malcolm Mitchell had 9 catches for 103 yards. It was another rough game for Georgia's running game as Todd Gurley ran the ball 12 times for only 47 yards. The Bulldogs' other freshman RB, Keith Marshall, only had six rushing attempts for 23 yards. The Dawgs had 504 yards in total offense.

Kentucky QB Jalen Whitlow went 9/13 for only 86 yards and no touchdown passes. RB Jonathan George had 12 rushing attempts for 87 yards and RB Raymond Sanders had 18 attemps for 72 yards and one touchdown. They only had 329 yards in total offense but committed no turnovers in the game.

Georgia's defense seems to have taken a step back since getting returning starters Alec Ogletree and Bacarri Rambo back from suspensions. Ever since the South Carolina game two weeks ago, they have been giving up big plays that is unusual coming from one of the best defensive units in the nation. Defensive coordinator Todd Grantham will have to make the right adjustments so there will be no more mental or physical errors for the rest of the season as the competition gets tougher. One of these tests will be against the #2 ranked Florida Gators next week. There are as many as four potential first round NFL draft picks on this defense such as Jarvis Jones, John Jenkins, Bacarri Rambo, and Alec Ogletree. There shouldn't be so many problems on defense with a core group of talent such as these players. I think the right adjustments will be made and they will be well prepared against a high powered Florida offense next week.

Georgia improves to 6-1 and are going to face the undefeated Florida Gators in Jacksonville next week. The Gators dominated South Carolina in Gainesville this week, 44-11. The Bulldogs will have to play smart football if they want to take over first place in the SEC East. It should be a battle all game long as both teams battle for SEC supremacy in this heated rivalry. Falcons Defeat Raiders 23-20 On Bryant's 55 Yard Field Goal

The Atlanta Falcons remain undefeated as the Oakland Raiders pushed them to the limit and made the game come down to the last 6 seconds. Falcons QB Matt Ryan struggled as the threw three interceptions in the first half. Matt Ryan got his rhythm together as he pulled his fourth quarter heroics that helped set up a Matt Bryant 55 yard game winning field goal.

Matt Ryan went 24/37 for 249 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. WR Roddy White caught six passes for 72 yards and one touchdown. WR Julio Jones caught four passes for 63 yards. RB Michael Turner had an off day on the ground as the ran the ball 11 times for only 33 yards. Atlanta had a dismal 286 yards in total offense.

Falcons' QB Matt Ryan

Raiders' QB Carson Palmer went 23/33 for 353 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. WR Denarious Moore caught five passes for 104 yards and one touchdown. WR Derek Hagan had four catches for 85 yards. RB Darren McFadden had 27 carries for 70 yards and one touchdown. He also had one first half lost fumble. Oakland had 474 yards in total offense. They had three total turnovers.

Atlanta had their first half struggles but as usual, head coach Mike Smith made the right halftime adjustments to help get his team's minds together and play real Falcons football in the second half. The Falcons' will and determination are what helps them overcome deficits and win games in the fourth quarter when it matters. This is QB Matt Ryan's 20th career fourth quarter comeback for a win. Kicker Matt Bryant also continues to prove why he's one of the best and most clutch kickers in the NFL.

The Falcons remain undefeated at 6-0 as they head into their bye week. They face the 3-3 Eagles in Philadelphia in Week 8. Atlanta will be going against their former QB Michael Vick. The Falcons defeated the Eagles in Atlanta in 2011.

Big things are happening in Atlanta right now as the Falcons continue to prove why they're Super Bowl contenders. Falcons Defeat The Panthers In An NFC South Clash, 30-28

It was a back and forth game between the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers in Week 4. Panthers' QB Cam Newton returned to his hometown of Atlanta looking to improve his Panthers to 2-2. Falcons' QB Matt Ryan was determined to help his Falcons improve to 4-0. This game came right down to the last 30 seconds of the game.

In the first half, Atlanta lead 24-14 but Panthers' QB Cam Newton lead a ferocious run. Atlanta slowly crept back into the game in the second half by the leadership of Matt Ryan and WR Roddy White's spectacular play making. In the last 1:15 of the game, Carolina QB Cam Newton fumbled the ball on a 4th & 1 play that could've helped the Panthers run out the clock and seal a win. Atlanta was down 28-27 and started their drive on their own 1 yard line. Matt Ryan used his strong arm and completed a deep pass to Roddy White on about the 30 yard line on the Panthers' side. After a few short passes that gained the right amount of yards to get into field goal range, Falcons' kicker Matt Bryant punched in the game winning field goal that helped Atlanta stay undefeated.

Falcons' QB Matt Ryan went 25/40 for 369 yards and threw for 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. WR Roddy White caught 8 passes for 169 yards and 2 touchdowns. RB Michael Turner had 13 carries for 103 yards. He also caught 3 catches for 68 yards and 1 touchdown catch. When facing pressure and with the game on the line, Matt Ryan didn't have any doubts that Atlanta can come out with a win. Ryan has a history of many 4th quarter game winning drives. He only has 4 losses at the Georgia Dome.

On defense, linebacker Stephen Nicholas had 8 total tackles. Defensive end John Abraham had 5 tackles and 1 sack. Safety William Moore and Cornerback Daunta Robinson also contributed with 5 tackles each. Defensive end Ray Edwards recovered a fumble. The key play of the game for Atlanta's defense was the recovered fumble on the 4th & 1 play against Cam Newton.

The Falcons now look ahead to face the Washington Redskins next week after this little scare. Atlanta is 4-0 while Washington is 2-2. Redskins' QB Robert Griffin III is struggling after a great Week 1 start while Falcons' QB is carrying a lot of momentum and being undefeated. The environment will be rough in Washington but the Falcons have proved time and time again that they can win no matter what the situation is.

Georgia Defeats Tennessee In A Shootout, 51-44

It was a tough and explosive game for both Georgia and Tennessee as it came to the last possession of the game. UGA had a fantasic day on the ground with freshman running backs Keith Marshall and Todd Gurley. Both UGA and Tennessee's offenses lit eachother's defenses up as the score shows. Tennessee had 478 total yards of offense and Georgia had 560.

Georgia QB Aaron Murray went 19/25 for 278 yards and 2 touchdown passes. WR Michael Bennett had 5 catches for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns. It was pure dominance for UGA's ground game as freshman running back Todd Gurley had 24 carries for 130 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Bulldogs's other great freshman running back Keith Marshall, ran the ball 10 times for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns. Each game these players are explosive on the handoffs and the end zone is always in their eyes. UGA had a staggering 7.2 rushing yards per attempt. The offense was a little bit shaky in the first half but as usual, head coach Mark Richt's halftime adjustments gave the Bulldogs the confidence and motivation to out perform Tennessee in the second half. All this lead to another Bulldogs win.

Georgia's defense forced 4 turnovers. CB Sanders Cummings had 2 interceptions. The Dawgs' second CB Damien Swann, contributed with 1 interception. The defense also forced 1 fumble. Tennessee QB Tyler Bray read the Dawgs' defense in the first half as he was able to swiftly get out of the pocket and avoid sacks. This was turned around in the second half as Georgia's defense was able to analyze Bray's game plan and do what they needed to do to get stops.

Volunteers' QB Tyler Bray went 24/45 for 281 yards for 2 touchdown passes and 3 interceptions. WR Mychal Rivera had 3 catches for 82 yards. WR Zach Rodgers had 6 catches for 51 yards and 1 touchdown. RB Rajion Neal had 23 carries for 104 yards and 1 touchdown. He also caught 5 passes for 53 yards and caught a touchdown.

Tennessee was motivated to come into Athens and pull off an upset against the #5 ranked Georgia Bulldogs but in the end, it was Georgia who had the will to win. Next week, the Dawgs head to Columbia, SC to face the #6 ranked South Carolina gamecocks. This is a critical game in deciding BCS bowl game implications and the lead in the SEC East. It should be an all out war as QBs Aaron Murray and Connor Shaw face off.

Georgia Routes Vanderbilt, 48-3, Improve to 4-0

After winning a close game against Vandy in Nashville last year, Georgia annihilates them 48-3 in Athens in 2012. Going against Green Bay Packers' QB Aaron Rodgers little brother Jordan Rodgers, who is the QB of Vanderbilt, Aaron Murray had the dominant game. UGA controlled the tempo on both sides of the ball for the whole game.

UGA QB Aaron Murray went 18/24 for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns. WR Marlon Brown was Murray's favorite target in this game as he caught 5 catches for 114 yards and a touchdown. Brown averaged 22.8 yards/catch. WR Tavarres King caught 4 passes for 58 yards and a touchdown also. RB Todd Gurley had 16 rushing attempts for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns. Georgia's other freshman RB sensation Keith Marshall ran the ball 10 times for 82 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Dawgs had 567 yards in total offense.

On defense, All- American linebacker Jarvis Jones had 7 tackles and 1 sack. Amarlo Herrera had 8 tackles. The UGA defense also forced and recovered a fumble. They continue to show their trend as a top 5 defense. Defensive coordinator Todd Grantham continues to install an aggressive defense.

Vanderbilt QB Jordan Rodgers went 13/23 for 218 yards. WR Jordan Matthews caught 8 passes for 119 yards. RB Zac Stacy had 12 rushing attempts for 83 yards. The offense was dismal on 3rd down as they were 2-14. They only had 337 yards in total offense. It was obviously a rough day for the Commodores.

The Georgia Bulldogs add another win to their total and look forward to facing the 3-1 Tennessee Volunteers in Athens next week. It will be a showdown of the two best quarterbacks in the SEC, Aaron Murray and Tyler Bray. Bray is said to have the strongest arm in the conference. Nontheless, it should be a great and close game with nothing but smashmouth SEC football involved. UGA hopes to capitalize on that game as they face #6 ranked South Carolina in two weeks.

Falcons Defeat Broncos, 27-21, Hand Manning's First Loss As Bronco

The Atlanta Falcons improve to 2-0 with their 27-21 victory over the 1-0 Denver Broncos. This was Broncos' QB Peyton Manning's first road loss and his official first loss as the QB for Denver. The Falcons defense put pressure on Manning all game long as they had 3 interceptions in the first half. It was a great day for the defense as they're playing without starting CB Brent Grimes as he is out for the season due to injury.

Falcons' QB Matt Ryan went 24/36 for 219 yards and 2 touchdowns. WR Roddy White caught 8 passes for 102 yards and 1 touchdown. TE Tony Gonalez caught 7 passes for 70 yards and 1 touchdown. RB Michael Turner had an off night as he ran the ball 17 times for 42 yards but did run for a touchdown.

Atlanta's defense also had a great day on defense. Linebacker Sean Weatherspoon had 10 total tackles and 1 fumble recovery. Linebacker Stephen Nicholas and safety William Moore each had 8 tackles. CB Asante Samuel had 7 total tackles. They fought hard and earned their 4 turnovers against Peyton Manning in the first half.

Broncos' QB Peyton Manning went 24/37 for 241 yards, threw 1 touchdown, and 3 interceptions. WR Demaryius Thomas caught 8 passes for 78 yards and 1 touchdown. RB Willis McGahee carried the ball 22 times for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns. Denver rallied in the second half but just fell short in the fourth quarter.

Peyton Manning had a second half comeback leading the Broncos by adding 2 touchdowns from RB Willis McGahee but it was in the end that Atlanta had good clock management and a first down run by RB Michael Turner that sealed the game for the Falcons. Atlanta constantly kept the chains moving that stopped a Broncos comeback.

Once again, there was controversy surrounding the replacement referees. For the majority of the game, they made the right calls but it appeared that they didn't know how to take control of the game and what decisions to make. Review of many plays in the first half was a big distraction as it took almost an hour and a half to reach halftime. Nonetheless, the NFL looks to reach a new deal with their officials and get them back on the field soon.

Atlanta now heads to San Diego to face the 2-0 Chargers in Week 3. This is the third straight AFC West opponent the Falcons are going to face. The Chargers are looking to get starting RB Ryan Matthews back from a clavicle injury that was sustained in the preseason. It should be a great offensive showdown between two great QBs in Matt Ryan and Philip Rivers.
